mother taught me not to lie
not to cheat, but i became a cheat
i wanted to survive,
i wanted to run my life my way
today tears overwhelm my heart
am torn, devided, lost in the sceptical world
whom do i run to?
whom, do i refer to after the lie?
i have lost the respect of my mother with the lie
lost the dignity of my father with the impecable theory of lust truth
i have lost myself
i want redemption
yet i can't find it
i want to run
but death's too far a strike
what got i to do?
?????????

i know that if i aint got a story i can run away that if my eyes in tear tie me, i can laugh it off but i know not where to look if you go away i know not what to think if you never talk again i know not what to do if i break your heart i know i can laugh with you share my pain and tear with you yet i know not what to do if am alone if i need someone to talk to someone to share sometimes life feels so lonely i feel lost in disdain sometimes but where got i to run but in the comfort of my silence where got i to hide except the bicePs of my Pen

From African terrains From a black queen Priceless Not plucked from trees Not like the apple silver line Child from Africa
Child whose heart is golden Mind crimson and intellect’s genius brother Child from Africa Whose root is beyond sea shells of desperation Not lost in dire desperation Nor in turmoil of aspirations
Child from Africa whose voice nature contends Whose eyes, the skies wanna change to emulate African child of color Dark of skin Affluent in language and style Whispers of winds pass his style Clouds form the shape of his heart One that welcomes Gives warmth and comfort
Child from Africa

**thought I should break in the new section with an oooldd story i wrote back in high school-enjoy. For a younger audience, i suppose**
“Oh my God! Oh my God! He’s in there!”
I quickly rush past the door and signal for my cousin to follow me but she isn’t even looking at me.
Oh nooo! She can’t be serious!
She slowly opens the door to the classroom and I immediately bolt for the stairway, open the door and ran like I never have in my life. My heart pounds in my ears as I practically fly down those stairs and head for the library. As I get closer to the library, I slow down as to not catch anyone’s attention. Some of the teachers were patrolling the halls to pick on any students who were behaving out of the ordinary. I’m not worried though because I’m a senior and the teachers at this time have practically given up on us. That is the main reason I was walking around the halls doing nothing with Felicia, my cousin. I pass the senior benches, painted with memories by various graduate classes and turn left into the library, pass the black security poles that have the ugliest screams whenever someone sets them off and entered the air conditioned library. My steps are silent as I walk to the back of the library, passing the computer rows and the Reference rows, to the round tables. I plop into a chair, put my elbows on the table and prop my head on them thinking about what the hell my cousin is saying to him.
